Mission
Our purpose is to serve the citizens of Dale County with the highest possible level of professionalism, experience, and compassion.
Responsibilities
- To coordinate with law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in the determining the cause and manner of death
- To assist families with information regarding autopsy and toxicology results
- To sign death certificates and forward them on to Dale County Health Department
- To collect Dale County death statistics, including motor vehicle crashes (MVCs), overdoses (ODs), suicides, and homicides
- Educational speaking for our youth regarding drugs and alcohol, drinking and driving, and other unsafe driving and lifestyle habits
